The rheumatologist I saw said I should be on muscle relaxers for tight
muscles......

will this help shoulder pain which is tendonitis and some arthritis??

My doc waiting on the report from the rheumy before he prescribes them

In my own experience, muscle relaxers do help!  They add a little more
*punch* to any other pain medication you may take.  Nanny

I have to agree. Today I can turn my head a bit further to the right and
have been on muscle relaxants since Friday.  If I'm lucky I won't have to go
to the PT'ers  with my follow-up this Wed. Not holding my breath tho. Am
practically living with the heating pad on my shoulder to neck right now.
That seems to help more than ice--he said to use what 'worked'. At least I
didn't have to increase my painkiller. I can still function with this combo.

Butterfly (think I have Alphabetitus now)

well, I have fibromyalgia along with the arthritis so it's a bit different,
but I do find the muscle relaxers help me.  I'm not sure how much with
tendonitis though - my real problem with that is tennis elbow type stuff that
waxes and wanes normally so I'm never sure what eased it - just what
aggravated it!

Any chance of getting massage prescribed in some way that insurance would
cover it?  Maybe as part of a PT program?  I'd think you'd really benefit
from that with the host of issues you have that can affect muscles and
tendons.
