Update on my Mom

Well  my Mom has stabilized. They did not put in a pacemaker but
instead thought that it was a drug reaction to the high dose of anti
hypertensive medication that she takes.

Her BP was recently running high and her doc has been changing meds.
Whatever drug he chose really put her BP down low if it was 80/40
while lying in the hospital, the ER doc thought that it must have been
much  lower when she stood, and her pulse was so weak. He said he was
surprised that she could walk.

Really had we not been there I am not sure what could have happened,
She has had meds to help increase the BP, it would not have done so on
its own.

They will keep her in the Kamloops hospital until she is a bit more
stable. but every thing looks like it will be good.

Iris, my eldest sister will be making one last trip to her doc
tomorrow and then on Monday seeing her surgeon. She is in a little
denial about the gravity of having the infection. ,ethinks. She is
afraid that if she sees the surgeon he will operate, but she is not
thinking that that may ultimately be what needs to happen.
Realistically there is a high risk that the prolonged infection can
cause loss of the limb if not worse.

This is good news about your mom so far. I have been sending prayers and
thoughts for your mom and your family. I sure hope your sister can get that
leg taken care of. You are always in my thoughts.

Good to know your Mom is doing better.  I hope your sister is able to
take care of her leg without any problems.

Take care.

Well Mom has improved to the point where she will be discharged
tomorrow. My sister though, had her appt with her doc here, and he
sent her for immediate surgery to the coast. She was sheduled for
three oclock this afternoon.
We need those prayers again. I would imagine she is having a temporary
joint put in with antibiotic, and will have  a revision tkr when the
infection is finally and truly healed.

Rose, so glad your sister's hip is being taken care of, but it is sad that
she has to go through the surgeries again.
Nice that your mom is able to go home.  All of you will be in my prayers,
Gwen

I hope all goes well for your sister.  Since she was putting this off, it
sounds like what is happening now is a good thing.   Put a stop to the
infection now.

Prayers for a swift and complete recovery.

Glad your mother is better.  Sorry your sister is having problems with her
joint.  I hope the surgery helps.

Good to hear about your Mom, not good about your sister. I am still keeping
all your family and you in my prayers though. I know we can still use them
even when we are having a better moment.

I sure hope this works out well for you sister. I wish she would not have
put this off so long and insisted they do something about the infection. I
am sending healing vibes to her now.

You take care too sweetie.

Oh by the way I am going to try to get in touch with Joe this weekend about
the Xmas card list. Will let you know.

On the way to pick up Mom. My sister called the doc that we saw in the
ER and arranged for him to take Mom as a patient, so we have that part
looked after. Both the nurse and the doc in Kamloops suggested that
perhaps a new doc was in order as they had concerns about the amount
of meds she was on.

Tomorrow we go to Langley to see Iris, my eldest sister. She had her
surgery yesterday, and as far as I know the prosthesis was left in and
they flushed it. Whatever they did took several hours, so perhaps they
did remove the prosthesis and re-insert it if that is possible. I only
spoke briefly with the BIL and she was in recovery.

Roads are not great in our province at this time of the year as they
are through high mountain passes, ans I am such a chicken about
highway travel anyway.

Will update later.

Glad to hear that your mom will be going to a better dr. Glad your sister
could do that.

I hope all goes well with Iris healing and all. I hope this did the job to
get her well and over that infection.

I don't blame you Rose for the highway travel in that kind of weather. Hugs
to you, I know you could use them right now.
