I have a form to fill out. The options are:

Employed
Self-employed
Unemployed
Retired

Since I'm on SSDI, am I considered unemployed or retired? With what I
have I won't ever be going back to work.

I tell myself that early retirement makes me sound privileged, not old.

You are retired.  You can't be unemployed if you are not employable.

Besides I like the sound retired better.

Early retired is absatively true and it's not a stupid question. How's
yer early retirement goin'?

Reminds me of a story my hubby told me, which is supposedly true.  One
of the ladies who worked at AOL in the early days, became a millionairess at
around 25, so she retired.  When filling out some form like this, she didn't
feel like she was "old enough" to count as retired, so she asked the clerk what
she should put down.  He asked her if she worked and she said no.  He marked
"unemployed" for her.  doh!  (Somehow I think retired sounds better, even if
some people might think she was too young for it.  I know *I'd* sure love to
retire early!)

Be careful what you wish for, Sharon. I used to think the same thing.

It's going OK. I have managed to find things to do so sometimes I'm
busier than I was when I was working. I do get frustrated in that there
are things I'd like to do but can no longer do. But as my cardiologist
says "it is what it is". I'm happy and have time to read and do things
that I never seemed to have the time to do before. The frustrating part
is the housework, as there are things I just can't do anymore. But I
know that people here well understand that one :)

Sure do.  In the last three hours I've managed to dust the kitchen floor,
wipe off the stove and countertop, and start the dishwasher.  At this rate,
I'll have the place ready for Thanksgiving by New Years.  And that's only if
things didn't get dirty again after they get cleaned.

Now I'm trying to decide if I dust the family room today, will I have to do
it again before Thanksgiving.  Cause I'm sure not going to do it twice.
That's just pathetic.

If you figure out a way for them not to get dirty again, let me know
:-))  I keep looking at my kitchen and thinking "But I just cleaned that
yesterday!!"

I hear ya on that one, Jo :))  I am not going anywhere for Thanksgiving.
I may take myself out to dinner unless I can get the energy up to make a
small turkey for me :-))

Carol, I just look at my house and say, "I cleaned that two months ago!"
