It works wonderfully on my knee w/osteo arthritis. Almost feels completely
normal. Doesn't affect my rheumatoid arthritis at all.

Thank you for the replies all, can anyone recommend any particular brand
other than the
following that my Specialist has recommended ie: Blackmores, Herron and Bio
organics.

I use Herron. I just noticed you're with Arachnet - I'm in Perth, too :-)

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

I use Quest, 1500 mg. caplet each morning. It seems to help. I am in Perth also,
but on the other side of the world. :-)

By the way, we tend to say "down under" when talking of Australia. My husband
wants to know if you folks speak of us as being "up there", or something like
that. Cheers from Canada.

they're from :-) hehe

You *could* be in a lot of trouble now, not from me, but........ I'll just watch
and wait. :-)

heh, reminds me of Mike and I traveling overseas - we try to be considerate
of the fact that there ARE other countries in the Americas and always say
we're from the US rather than from America.  Inevitably though the person
we're speaking to replies with, "Ah, America!"

Here is a site with some info but as this is USA and
you are in AU -- guessing the names will not help. It
does gives a link to Dr. Theo's as well. He is a
salesman for his book but good information there as
well. At least it will give you the info on what makes
a good make up of the drug and can make your choice
from there.
Another thing to remember, is that one brand my have
some non active ingredient which may not agree with
your stomach but have nothing to do with the active
ingredients. Read your labels and try one.

It does for some, but the dosage can vary between people quite a bit.
Sometimes, given the dosage variations and the lag time between starting
it and positive effects from it, people can get discouraged.

I cannot imagine that the concentrations of this would be high enough
through transdermal absorption to have any effect whatsoever,
considering the large amounts that have to be taken orally to get a
result, and that's a much more efficient option. You'd pretty much have
to immerse yourself in a gel 24-7 to hope to have an effect.

My rheumatologist thinks so.  He told me to go out and buy the largest and
cheapest bottle I could find and take it daily.  I'm hoping it is
benefitting me, although the results seem to be *invisible*.  Nanny

I have RA and my RD said for me not to take it because it would make me
worse.I would be interested in hearing if someone with RA takes it and
if it helped them or not...Carol

I have RA but also OA and my RD told me to take it for that. He said not to
bother with the Chondroitin because there was no evidence that that one helped.
I take 1,500 mg. of Glucosamine daily.
