here are a few pixes of my new house. i'm taking them down tomorrow,
'cause i don't like to go public with exterior pixes, but wanted to
share--especially the cool handicap ramp.

Diane, it's lovely, and the ramp is awesome. Sure beats the standard type
that is built over the stairs, doesn't it?

Congrats on your new home. It has a very inviting look.

Oh Diane, these are great pics. I do like the house, plants, ramp and the
fountain river bed area. That is great. Thanks for sharing those with us.

Your house is beautiful and I like that it is surrounded by trees (at
least partially).

it's in the raleigh, north carolina area. it's big, but we're mixing
two households and john's photography studio, so we are filling every
space.

oh, I'm glad I got to looking at them before you take them down!  What a
lovely looking house and setting, a nice sanctuary.  The ramp is really cool,
too.  I can see why this place appealed to you two!

I agree with the comments given and I must say the ramp is a major asset.
Personally I now think every house should be ramped if only to carry wheeled
suitcases in and out.

I agree, Kelly. I have to use a shopping cart to get my groceries from
the car into my apartment. From where I park my car there is an area
that is all grass. On rainy days it's not easy to get the cart over the
grass as it sinks in. I'd love a ramp!

carole, i just bought a great cart on wheels just for this purpose.
otherwise it meant several trips from the car to the kitchen. now i
just load everything into the cart and wheel it up the ramp.

I love my little cart! Now that I have it, I can buy more than 2 bottles
of soda at a time :) And I can get milk and firelogs too. Without the
cart, I'd never get that stuff into the house. In NYC I had a nice big
one....out here I could only find a small one, but it's OK. I also use
it to take the garbage out. We have to put our garbage in a dumpster, so
I just put the newspapers and plastics in the cart, and balance the
garbage bag on the top of the cart.  And off we go to the dumpster :)
It was either that or find a strong stud muffin to take the garbage out,
and I couldn't find one of those :(
