I just had a bone scan done and obviously don't have results yet but
the pictures on the green monitor showed one wrist being very bright
and lit up and the other hardly at all. I asked the technician about it
and all he told me was that the images are reversed on the monitor ie.
left is right and right is left. It appears that the hand that is
giving me trouble was darker than my good hand which was all lit up. I
thought that the bright areas showed the damage? Am I missing
something? Help

Until you talk to your Doc there is no use getting worked up and scared.
It's always possible that the images are light/dark inverted as well as
right/left reversed.

Bright areas can mean oedema around the bones from damage or chronic
inflamation, but very dark areas can mean osteonecrosis. I'd wait for
the report before trying to figure out what a few images you remember mean.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Necrosis of the left wrist is what I had--broken wrist--necrosis is bone
death--I didn't even know it. Have osteoarthritis in both wrists and
hands.
If it's suggested that you have wrist fused--I nixed the the idea (in
favor of a wrist brace) because it would otherwise reduce your range of
motion if it is fused.

Hi,,,, That radioactive scan is a great information getter for your RD and
will show where inflam.arth. is active.
I had one to prove to my 2 RD that I have RA. I lit that sucker up like a
Christmas tree and I started Methx the day my RD got the results along with
2-3 more prescriptions.
