Thanks so much for the thoughtful card.  It is so nice to know that
someone was thinking of me during the day. I am doing OK and trying to
keep busy.

Hugs and Love,
Carole :)

Pretty good thanks.  My knees are just wonderful.  My spinal stenosis is
a real pain.  I started PT for my back this week while I'm on vacation.
The combination of therapy and not working is just great.  Go back on
Monday so expect the pain to elevate again.  Will be off again for
another week 13th Nov.  I set my vacations around dog shows.

Thanks again.  Best to you and yours.  How's your husband's job coming
along?

Lyn,

I hope things go well for you.

Hubbys job is ok. He got sent home yesterday because someone got into the
site the night before and stole all the cable so they didn't have supplies
to work with. He had to go out of town today to do a job. He is not home
yet. So I don't know when he will be getting in. He had to leave this
morning at 5 am.

I know I haven't been around much since the hurricanes last year.  Got
injured trying to board up last fall and then just as I was healing I had a
bad fall and so I have been on the injured reserve list and just beginning
to feel fit for human consumption.  The good news is that though we have
been through more hurricanes than the law allows, there has been little
damage and that all fixed--

What have I been up to besides being down for the count--well--not
much--except trying to keep up with my youngest daughter who is now a senior
in high school and has her first job--we lost our Mackie -- the healer dog
to a fast growing cancer several months ago and have added Luke to our
family--he is an older dog--a rescue and the sweetest boy--

I am feeling some better and decided it was time to come out of my shell and
act like a social human being!!

Alix

PS--the really good news is that my folks are gifting me with hurricane
shutters--the kind that roll out--which I can get in place without killing
myself!!  Best gift!!

Sorry to hear that you need such a thing, but happy to hear that you
are getting one as a gift.

Oh Alix, I hope you are on the healing end of all this. Do we have to wrap
you in bubble wrap too. ;-)

I am glad not much damage has been done with the hurricanes. Great news
about the roll up shutters. That should help you alot.

Thinking of you always. I hope you do get to be around here more. Have
missed you alot.

Hi Alex,,,,  Thank you for the update sooo much.    I am saying again that
falls, slips, trips, and what have you is going to get us all at one time or
another.   I lost both my dogs of 15 and 17 years in one year and one of
them to cancer.  It all was as painful as my RA.   I should of done like you
and brought another one into the family but I have resisted.
The hurricanes have gotten a 6000 watt Honda in my garage but I have
been wanting one of those for years and life is alot less stressful knowing
that I can keep my supply of Enbrel safe.   I tested positive for TB and the
medicine to protect myself from that put me in complete remission.  So,,,, I
had quite a supply in my frig to protect.   Oooh, I would love to have those
shutters you have but that will have to wait until the car is paid for.  So
it goes.   Nice to see you on the board,,,, now if Chief would get his
computer stuff in order my world would be round.  LOL

Thank you all--I have missed you too--Harv--as far as keeping the Enbrel
safe--I can take it to work if I lose electric as they have a generator!!
Rose--with what they say that we are in an upswing cycle of hurricanes and
it should last for YEARS--the shutters are wonderful--my little house isn't
a mansion but it IS my little slice of paradise and I want to keep it
intact!! Squirelly Jo--bubble wrap sounds good--I am tired of the falling
game--do you know any others that are not so ouchy???

So glad to be back---

Alix
Squirrely - 29 Oct 2005 06:20 GMT
No Alix, I don't know too many others that are not ouchy.

We will wrap  you in cotton and bubble wrap. Extra protection. ;-)

Alix, it is so good to hear from you and know you have survived the
hurricanes!

The roll-out shutters sound like a godsend and much easier to do than
nailing up boards.
