Well after post labour Day surgery went well, the ankle is doing fine,
physio went well, good healing on the incision. The only difficulty with
the surgery was the depression I fell into as a result of the anaesthesia.
So I went from a floor with a cracked ankle to a floor where we were all
cracked(I have to laugh, good survival mechanism).
Home today, still not 100% but will do what it takes to get me as good as I
get. Follow up appt with the inpatient psych on Sat and we will look at
transferring my care to a new program in the Psychiatry division (long-term
care Program).
Going to try and catch up on msgs here over the next day or so, so I'll be
around a bit. Also with the end of Hurricane Wilma here I don't think I'll
be on the go much anyway.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hiya Bruce, sorry to hear about that anesthetic reaction. Sounds like you
have a good support team though, makes all the difference! While the reason
may not be the greatest, it would be interesting to be part of a new
program. Just think, you might be part of something that helps other people
in the future.
I hear rumours that you may get some snow with that hurricane too (heh heh
heh)

Good to see you back Bruce. I like your survival technique; laughter alway
seems to help. Hope the rest of the healing and recovery goes very, very
well.

Good to hear from you. Been there on the post anesthesia depression. I'm
glad they are taking it seriously. That and a bum ankle could produce a
really deep dark pit.
Do what you can to get out into sunlight for a little bit each day its
available. You need the vitamin D for the bones as well as the light for
the endorphins.
If fall produces brilliant colors where you live, enjoy a few of them for
me. I really miss the fall leaves. But not enough to trade sunny
California for the climates that produce them.

Was called back to the hospital this morning for some blood work. Instead
of taking the highway, I went via a secondary road. It was most beautiful,
it was much like an artists rendering or photo essay of fall in NewEngland
or in my case Nova Scotia. It was breath taking. Each new hill or corner
brought a whole palette of colours, I really loved it.

It is great that the surgery went well, but a bummer about the
depression.
Hope you are ALL better soon.
