Monday -- October 24th

Jason is feeling somewhat better than he has for a while and he is now fever
and infection free. Also he had been having lots of pain in his neck where
the doctors put the rods in there at UAB but that is better now too. He was
moved out of isolation and into room 201-b that he shares with one other
guy. He is still having some respiratory difficulties but that's getting
better as well. He has been able to do some light therapy the last few days
but not as aggressive as planned but they hope to be able to get back into
the more aggressive therapy soon. He will be at the Shepherd Center about 3
1/2 more weeks before coming home. We heard from someone that visited him
over the weekend that Jason's spirits were high and that he was joking about
how fast their wheelchairs would go and that some of the guys had been
racing their wheelchairs around the therapy swimming pool. Please pray that
Jason's spirits will remain high and that he will stay infection free and
pain free so that his aggressive therapy can be continued. Lorrie has moved
into the Holiday Inn Express on Pharr Road in Buckhead instead of another
apartment for the remainder of her stay in Atlanta. She just wanted to be as
close by as possible to the Shepherd Center. Please continue to pray for
her, Allen and Lacie in their travels back and forth.
