My sister Iris now has an infection. She had called on the weekend and
said there was some redness, and the area was feeling very hot. My
middle sister and I went over, had a look, and decided that she should
go to the ER. Fortunately her doc was on-call; he came and looked and
gave her an antibiotic shot as well as an oral one. She then had to go
back for them to look at it again on Sunday. When she went, there was
no change/ Today however, it was obviously worse. The doc cut into it
to drain it, and she now needs to go twice a day for IV abx. He wanted
to hospitalize her, but there are no beds.

PLease keep her in yopur prayers.

Oh, my.  Kicking up the prayers for Iris again.  It's good that you all got
her to the doctor over the weekend.  Without that shot, the situation might
have been even worse.

What a begger Rose!  Hope she is getting better with the IV abx.  Must admit
if they will administer that at home away from a hospital it would feel
better!  It is hard to get any rest in the hospital and the constant
coughing etc around me made me hope I didn't end up catching something
there.

Will keep prayers open for her.  She is on the mainland isn't she?

She has moved back here now, Kelly.
She has been going twice a day for the abx. I think she is improving
but there is still infection there.
