Jim got a job. He will be working in the cable business again. He is
presently working in the next town from us in a Hotel. They are running
cable, telephone and network lines. No benefits, but a paycheck none the
less.

Drews contact is still in his eye. No luck there yet.

I went to drs today and have broncitis and asthma triggered more so from it.
So back on pred for another 6 days. Dr told me I need to get with more drs
becase of the critical chronic issues I have. No money no can do. He did not
hydrate me so we shall see how that goes.

Oh yeah by the way, the sweats I was telling some of you about. Dah, it was
fever. I checked my temp several times over the last few days with two
different thermometers, one ear, one oral. Neither said it was a temp but
today at the drs it was. So that explains the sweats but feeling cold too.
My feet and hands and chest and back were freezing while the rest of me was
sweating and hotter than all get out.

I am hurting from just changing clothes every couple of minutes. ;-)

So there is my news for the day and I am sticking with it. ;-)

oh good, there's a step in the right direction.  Will keep up the prayers
that it turns into something permanent with benefits.  (and that they aren't
like our local rural cable company that went out of business when the
electric company cut them off due tot heir huge unpaid pole-rent debt!)

May that soon change.

Oy.  things really need to turn around for you.

I get that sometimes when I'm running a fever, too.  It's truly not fun.
It's a pain to have to take a shower when all you've been doing is lying
around in bed, but I get so sticky when I sweat and after a major round of
chills & sweating (usually followed by a little nap) I need a shower to help
me out a bit!

I hear ya there!    ((((((((((((SJ))))))))))))  may the antibiotics kick in

I'm glad to hear that JIm got a job!  That's good news indeed!

I'm sorry to hear that you have a fever!  That can really drag you
down!

Take care,

Thanks Vickie,

Yeah I was already drug down because I was just getting over a virus/flu
that had the stomach flu with it. That lasted three weeks. Now got this one
on top of it all. I hate this time of year. I was being so careful too and
not going out or being around people and it got
me anyways. ;-)

Thanks Cindy. Ok, but I don't know if Drew will fit in the big enevelop. LOL
;-)

I am not on antib's. Allergic to them all. So the pred is suppose to
hopefully chase it out. I hope. We shall see.

I am hurting myself, just putting on the thermal shirt, taking it off,
taking off tshirt, and just running around in tank top. Then putting it all
back on. Then crawling under blanked, turning on fan, taking off blanket and
clothes, putting them back on, turning off fan every couple of minutes. I
never knew your feet and hands and chest and back could get so cold when the
rest of your body feels like a volcano.

It never amazes me that I keep saying this was the worse I was ever this
sick and then I get something else that makes that one the worse. I guess I
just wasn't as sick before as I thought I was. ;-)

Whaa!  I had that with my bronchitis!  i called it the shivering sweats.  I
finally gave up and wore my robe to bed just flipped layers of blankets on
and off.  Not fun at all.  Get tons of rest, fluids and naps.  I'll think
some chicken soup your way ;-)

Yup, fine now although, in my case, it took awhile and to this day I cough
on smoggy days and around strong scents.  I consider that a small price for
putting up with that particular round of sickness <g>.  Make sure your doc
is monitoring your breathing sounds - the last thing you need is pnemonia.

More soup?

Sure that was good soup. I will have to get your recipe for it. ;-)

I am watching it closely. I was kind of worried yesterday when the hair
balls would not stop coming up. It was really thick and by the time I got it
loosened up, my pulse was like up to 130. Then it went back down. I hate
getting up in the mornings because of that. ;-)

But today was better so hopefully I am getting all that junk up and out of
there. I hope. This will be day 3 of the pred. So I am half way there.

Squirrely, I am always amazed at how you hold on to your sense of humor even
when you feel like crap.  I mean, my husband thinks I stay positive, but from
what I see here, you're better at it than I am!  i hate bronchitis with a
passion and am delighted to say I haven't had it for several years now.

Breathe in as much steam as you can stand, however you can manage to get it.
I'm lazy, so I usually settle for a couple of very steamy showers during the
day.

I did put a pot of water on the stove yesterday for about 4 hrs to get steam
into the air. I think it helped some.

For some reason, I can't do humidifier or vaporizer, it activates my asthma
for some reason so I use the old method of the pot on the stove.

I have to keep my sense of humor or I would be so depressed. ;-)

Yes Sir: You didn't have to yell that so loud, you scared me to death. LOL
;-)

I felt sorry for hubby this morning. He was eating breakfast, and there I am
trying to bring up a hair ball. I told  him aren't you glad your boss called
and told you to come in at 9 instead of 7:30 so that you could hear this
while you are eating. LOL

I wonder how long it will be before the fever goes away with threating this
with just pred. I can't stay hydrated enough to keep the hair balls loose.

You know I am wondering if I actually swallowed the whole cat. ROFL.

OK already, I had to answer this before I could go to bed. But I can fix
that too. I can have my other puter put back in my room and then I can
answer from my bed. LOL

Once I called in "sick" and stayed in bed all day.  I moved my laptop, a
portable TV, a couple books onto the bed with me and basically vegged all
day.  It was great!   too bad we have to be healthy to really enjoy that

you'd better be back in bed now, squirrely girl!  Then again, in the past
with bronchitis I'd sleep either in the recliner or on the couch with my head
propped up on one of the arm rests so I'd wake up with the cough from hell a
few less times during the night.  If you can keep your head elevated some
while sleeping it helps some with the morning hack.  Or at least you sleep a
bit more so you have more energy for the coughing  ;)  You know - just
remembering my most recent cases of bronchitis has my chest hurting again!
probably just a fraction of how you feel though.........

Nann,

I was trying to move around alot because I thought that would help the lungs
move some of that stuff out of them that way. I think I read something about
if you lay in bed too much that, that gives that stuff more of a chance of
going into pnemonia. I don't want that. ;-(

I am trying to do the best I can, but i am not sure it is good enough.

I know you are over on the other ng, so you know a friend just passed away.
I think she had this virus also from the sounds of it.
Then another one on that group also has a virus and ended up in the hospital
today. So I am starting to get worried now. Especially since we can't do
antib's on me.

I can't get hydrated enough to get the muscus moving much. They won't
hydrate me because of the scare of my health issues. So I keep pushing the
pedialyte, and other fluids but it doesn't seem to be enough since I am
still running a fever and sweating so much.

I am a mess. ;-)

Oy, I forgot about your hydration issues.  I hate bronchitis so much, the
thought of that pushed the other from my mind.  You must feel like you just
can't win.

Can you take expectorant?  I forget the generic name, but you know - it's
included in many cough syrups but you can buy it alone, without the cough
suppressant, in the cough syrup section.  It's the stuff some nuts claim will
cure FMS in large doses.  I find it does help in getting the crud out of the
lungs.  I think it's also available in an OTC pill form now, but that might
be pricy.  Then again, you may already be taking it or you may not be able to
with all your drug sensitivities.

Stay in touch with your doc, please, and don't let things go too long if you
don't get better.  We don't want to lose you, too.

I t is possible that what Drew is feeling is the abrasion that occured when
his problem first started. This could take 2 weeks to heal. I know
personally that this can be very uncomfortable.
I am hoping your husband's job works out and relieves the whole family of
the terrible mental strain.
The very best of luck to you. You have had enough of the other kind.

Thrilled about Jim's news and wishes that Drew's eye situation figures
itself out soon.

As for your health, what are we gonna do with you?

Are you allergic to garlic? It's one of nature's antibiotics. So if you can
eat it, have someone cook up some broth/soup for you with lots and lots of
garlic. Eat sautéed garlic spread on bread. Eat as much garlic as you can.

Can you take Echinacea? Not quite sure I'm recalling this correctly but I
think my sister's herbalist told her to use the liquid kind (not sure if
it's a 'tincture' or whether there is another name) 20-30 drops on her
tongue 6 times a day for no more than two weeks. And I don't know if
Echinacea is OK for you or not, given your other meds and medical issues.
But it's supposed to help bolster the immune system.

I think the idea of just wrapping yourself in a towel instead of changing
clothes. Got any extra flat sheets so you can just wrap like a toga or
something?

Feel better, kiddo - SOON!!!!!

During one of my hospital stays that involved huge amounts of solumedrol, I
managed to acquire one of those thin cotton hospital blankets.  I'd just
wrap up in one of those at night until I'd sweat through it, and then shower
and switch to big bath or beach towels till morning.  Those were the days
(not)

adelle.

those were good suggestions but I cant do either. the garlic would start the
hiatal hernia going more whacky than it is now. The Echinacea I can't do
because of the Hashimotos. That is why drs don't like to see me coming. No
answers. Too many chronic illnesses and two many allergies to meds. I cant
do vitamins and herbals either. So I am a lost cause. That is what
frustrates the heck out of them. But they should try living in a body like
this and really see how it feels and the frustration because of not being
able to get the help I need.

I love you too and I know God does you too. But thanks for the reminder,
sometimes I need that reminder.

Jo, I was out of town and just learned about Jim's job and your being so
sick again.  I am thrilled about the job and pray it will turn into a
permanent job with good benefits.  As for you, am so sorry that you're so
sick and so few things you can take to help you get better.  Please take as
good care of yourself as possible, and pray you will get better quickly.
Also hope your son's eye will heal quickly.

Thanks Gwen. I am praying my having to go to the hospital yesterday morning
didn't mess with Jims job. He got there an hour late. But he did work longer
last night to make up for it. I hope the boss gives him a break. Talk about
bad timing.

I am trying to take care as best as I can.

I am hoping his eye heals quickly too. Thank you again.
