I can't take aspirin B/C of low platelets so was using Tylenol, now I
get an e-mail that it has Propylparaben in it and it's dangerous. Have
anyone heard of that?

Hi Fay,
What kind of arthritis do you have?
There are a number of meds available, depending on the type of
arthritis and the level of your pain.
The only thing I've heard of regarding Tylenol is liver problems from
taking too much.

Yep, I have to watch that with the liver (and I have VERY low platelet
counts). Celebrex doesn't have the same anti-platelet effects that COX-1
inhibitors do, so I can take that. Tylenol (panadol in other countries)
has been shown to cause high blood pressure over time (the study
participants were women only, but it seems likely to be repeated in men).

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

I am not taking anything now for the arthritis. The only med. I take are
blood pressure pills and it's under control.

My platelets is in the 50. I also Have Tourette Syndrome. came back in
my 70'sa. I had Saint Vitis Dance in the 20.

Believe it or not I am still healthy, live alone, gave up driving in my
80.lol

Are you seeing a haematologist about that platelet count? Given your
age, you're at risk for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and there are new
and good treatments available. As with many medical matters, it's best
to treat earlier than later. I'd love to have a platetlet count of 50k!

Cheers,

Ari

Charlene I haven't seen the Dr yet.  Not anxious to take any med. with
side effects. I only have a pain in one of my ankles, Left hand thumb
and in back of my left knee. not a pain that bothers me enough to take
med.not all the time just once in a while. My next appointment is in 3
mo. I am 90 so I can't complain.
