I want to first off Thank you to squirrelly Jo and the rest of the gang that
sent me a birthday card, I was surprised that you knew. I will be the big 50
on the 29th of this month, so thank you for the remembrance.
I gave myself my 8th shot of enbrel. I will say that I am not as near
tired as I was. And I have a few more good days than bad. I still have the
awful cramping in the legs and the pain in my right hip and knee and ankles
is no better at all. I started seeing a physical therapist, it is
integrated therapy, kinda of an osteopath, some people that I know say great
things about him. I will wait and see. I miss my exercise a lot, I have
managed to gain 15 pounds, not sure that it is from enbrel or just the fact
that I don't exercise like I use to, but on the other hand I am hardly
eating at all, the pain in the hips really gets to me.
I see the RA doc again at the end of the month, I am going to ask for a
cortisone shot in the hip and the left shoulder, I am not sure he will do it
though, he doesn't believe in them for some reason. I was hoping that the
enbrel would help all the inflammation in my side of the hips and the sit
bones, but no luck so far. I hate to give up on it though, because I do
have more energy then I use to, so that is one positive.
Hoping that everyone will find some pain relief that needs it. I am hopeful
that things will turn around. This pain I have been having in my hips and
legs has been since May. I gave up on the orthodics and not sure if that did
something or not but will wait and see.
Happy week to all,
Becky

Becky,
When I started Enbrel about a year and a half ago, the fatigue was the
first benefit that I realized from it. It took until about the 3rd
month to finally get some relief from the joint/back pain.
Soon thereafter, however, I was diagnosed with fibro, which explained a
lot of the muscular pain that I was having.
Why doesn't you doc believe in cortisone shots? My Rd will readily
inject almost anything (at least so far!), and the shots have helped
immensely. (Especially with my left shoulder).
I hope that the Enbrel kicks in full boat for you, and soon!

Your welcome about the card.
I sure hope you can get the pain under control and make it easier to live
with. I hope you soon find something that really works for you.
