Hey,ive searched and searched for a place to talk with others with
pericarditis! Basically iam 21 and was diagnoised with pericarditis 1
month ago, i took asprin and it went away but had it for about 2 1/2
weeks. Then just recently as of sunday its come back, its very
irritating and discomforting. Iam very curious as to what it might be
caused from? iam really hoping its just a viral infection and that i
can be cured from it. I recently made a appointment for a physical in
nov with my doctor. When i see him iam defiently going to have them get
to the bottom of it and find out whats causing it. So far iam just
wondering if anyone else here on the bored has pericarditis? Iam a
pretty physically fit guy, i love to runand exercise and just cant see
how i can get something like this.

Well, I don't have it, but my mother died with that as the primary
cause of death.  Have you done a search on Pericarditis?  Here's a link
from the Heart Association:

It talks about some of the causes and treatments.  Hope it helps.  I
know that my mother had it for years before she died (she had numerous
other problems, so don't think you'll be dying within a couple of years
okay?).

Some people have a bout with this and it goes completely away.  Others
have bout after bout.  I belong in the last group!  I've been told that
there are many reasons for it.  And the treatment is basically the same
as other inflammations.  Mainly I just take the pressure off that area
and move on!  Yes!  It hurts!

Take care,

I got a virus that attacked my heart last January and left me with
congestive heart failure. My suggestion is to find a good cardiologist
and do whatever he/she says.
