Well, I finally got insurance coverage and will be starting on Oct 13.
I by need must go alone. Is there likely to be any problem with my
ability to drive after the infusion? It will be about half-hour on
hiways.
Thanks, Martin

You may be drowsy if they give you benedryl, Martin.
I used to drive myself home, but then this is a relatively small town,
and i was usually at the hospital for about 4 hours so i felt as
though the benedryl was wearing off some.
I hope that remicade works well for you.

if they give you benedryl, you may be drowsy. however, i was always
fine to drive myself home (highways), because i was there so long that
it wore off. i almost always took a nice deep nap when i got home tho,
so i must still have been sleepy.
my new doc makes a big deal of it. they give an oral antihistimine
instead of by IV to prevent the drowsiness and were amazed the hospital
i used to get the remicade at would let me drive home, so i guess it's
an individualized thing.
not sure that helped! i guess you'll have to see how it affects you. i
hope you have good results from it.

I've never had any problem driving. As they said above
if benedryl makes you drowsy you might have problem.
They used to give me a dose before they started, but now
they have me take it at home. They said take one the
night before, and one in the morning. So far it doesn't
affect me very much, I have never noticed any particular
drowsiness. Of course I may doze off in the chair while
I am getting the infusion, but that isn't anything
different, I may doze off in my chair any way.
Good Luck,

There shouldn't be if they give you benedryl it will make you sleepy.
Ask if you will be receiving benedryl if not you should be fine. --

Just a side note,,,, when I was on Remicade, I took Allegra instead of the
other stuff and never had a sleepy problem.
