The following is taken from a message on Jayne's & Billy's answering machine
tonight from Lorrie, Jason's mother.  God is surely answering prayers for
Jason.

He is still completely off of the ventilator. He still has the trach cap in,
and they're gonna just completely wean him--leave that (the trach cap) in
until they know that he's completely ready to come off of everything. But he
is breathing completely on his own still.

In fact, when we went in this afternooon, he didn't realize it but his
oxygen line had gotten
pinched--so he had been lying there all morning with no oxygen --so they've
now taken him completely off of the oxygen, too. So hallelujah, I mean it's
just amazing!

It's just amazing. (Lorrie paused--a little overcome with emotion) I'm
together now.

We weren't expecting that 'cos they had said it would take two weeks before
he was able--
for him to get off that oxygen. And praise the Lord, he's off of it today!

He's speaking in a soft voice now. He's eating soft foods. Not much of an
appetite, but
the foods are coming and he eats what he can.

And another wonderful praise; he was moved out of ICU today into a regular
room--Room 216. He's on the second floor, so they will start working with
him in his therapy in the morning. They'll let him rest on Sunday and then
they will start aggressive therapy on Monday. So he's going to be a tired
boy every night!
