Thank you all for your thoughts on Mom. I'd like to respond properly
but a table collapsed on my legs and left a huge gash right under my
knee and I'm on the way to the ER. Like I needed something
else........att least it only cut one leg.  DianeW

Next time (there better not be any next time) post AFTER you get your
accident taken care of!!! Your health is more important than letting us
know what happened.

I know, I know but rest assured that I was waiting while my husband
loaded the car and walked the dog. :)

Now that sounds like a husband that has been to the ER a few times before!
Charlie is still trying to live down the one time I woke him at 3AM to ask
him to drive me to the ER and he muttered "can't you drive yourself?"  To be
fair it was probably the fifth trip that month.

Worse was the evening I called him from hospital admitting to tell him I was
going in for an emergence (sort of) appendectomy.  It was bowling night and
the first thing he said was "what am I supposed to do with the kids?"

To be fair, he got rather used to calls at work to tell him where to collect
my car as I was in the hospital again.

Asthma was a real bitch there for a while.

Wayne has a real problem with hospitals so I try to not to make it too
painful for him. His Mother survived a horrible auto accident before
she died after 18 months of lingering in and out of the hosptial back
in the 70's. His care for her during those months gave him the
wonderful compassion for helping me.

The first few times I was in the hospital he didn't even go with me.
But he's adjusted and I try to let him out of it as soon as possible.
Last night I talked him into coming back home and sleeping while I was
there. Doesn't take two of us to wait.  Then my son, bless his heart,
called his Dad and volunteered to come and pick me up. :) Good son!

I thought waiting meant being still.  How could you do it sitting
still?  LOL

bummer, kid.  not again.  you poor thing.  i wish i could come up with a
suggestion that would prevent you from being a gash-magnet (then i'd take my
own advice and quit being a bruise-magnet).   let us know how it went at the
plastic surgeon's.
