So much more needs to be done. To be honest, more cities need to step up
and do what they can,,,, the size of this is more than a mind can grip.
How about the bases for the armed services? I am sure they are working on
these things but the time to act is now.

I heard Detroit has offered refuge for the survivors. They were going to
send some troops and planes if they could. Mentioned on the Detroit news
last night.

Our Alabama governor is checking out closed military bases and mental
hospitals to see if they can be used for long term residence. Of course,
FEMA has to give their approval.

I know Detroit has volunteered to take 3,000 - don't know any details beyond
that as I didn't buy the paper, just read the headlines. Heard last night
that San Antonio is planning to take in thousands, housing the initial
refugees at the defunct base there (Air Force, maybe? I know the mayor said
it has a large working runway for flying folks in.)
