Ok....first of all just wanted to let you know that I don't intend this
email to be spam but I'll leave that up to you.

I've suffered with rheumatoid arthritis since Feb/2001 so I know the
kind of pain most of you have gone through. I've taken methotrexate,
plaquenil, hydroxychloroquin, Celebrex, VIOXX, naproxen, Bextra, and
Mobic among others. I've sat in the rheumatologist office for about 2
1/2 hours every 6 weeks taking the infusions of Remicade.....Remicade
helped, but only lasted for 2 weeks so I suffered the next 4 weeks
until my next treatment (my insurance only allowed 8 treatments per
year)....Finally in November of 2003, while in the doctor's waiting
room I read a brochure on Bextra which I asked my doctor to let me try
out. After about 2 days, I felt this sudden relief from most of my
joint pains and I thanked God for this "miracle drug". I had been on it
since then .....until......as most of us who depended on it know that
Bextra was taken off the market earlier this year ..... So I was back
to square 1. My doctor recommended Mobic which I took and noticed it
wasn't helping anywhere as much as Bextra....To make a long story
short, I ran across the collagen product while dealing with a Web
Design venture (which is what I do). This product was introduced as
available for marketing.....I decided to try it out myself since I had
the joint pains this product was claiming to relieve....I was skeptical
but desperate. I took it for the first 10 days along with Mobic. After
the tenth day, I stopped taking Mobic and have taken only a 5 mg pill
of Mobic since then when I over exerted myself. I've now been on the
collagen for just over 2 months with little or no pain and have not
taken any other pain medication for over 1 1/2 months. I definitely
feel it needs to be shared with others suffering from these pains. This
is not the watered down (diluted) collagen found in cosmetics, this is
100% pure collagen. I've shared it with others locally and hear it's
helping them so thought this group would want to know about it. It may
take longer on some and others it may help right away. What Type II
collagen does is replenish the cartilage which none of the other
prescribed drugs do (at least none that I took). It's also improves
fine lines and wrinkles for those of you that care about that.

I've since created a website for selling it knowing the joint pains
many of you go through each day, but I won't mention the website
address unless I hear that most of you want to hear about it. The cost
is $34.95 (which is under the recommended price)with free shipping in
the US. It comes in a bottle of 100 capsules with 3 capsules taken each
night.

Again, my intention is not to take advantage of any of you with
anything that doesn't work.

I'll wait and hear your thoughts/comments. You can either reply to me
or to the group.

Thanks and God bless,
Jess

Jess,   You are not going to take advantage of me in anything in this life
and it does not matter if it works or not.   If you come to gain profit in
money from the people here,,,,,,, it makes you a spammer,,,, a salesman
and that is not allowed in this newsgroup.

Harv,

I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone. I've suffered with RA and
know the pains that come along with it. For anyone that is suffering
from RA or OA, please check with your doctors and ask about type II
collagen. It worked for me and my rheumatoid arthritis. And I think it
can work for you.

Harv,

I've been thinking about what you said and it just baffles me that
people like you would rather complain and suffer than try something
that can actually relieve your pain. I used to not be able to even pick
up the tailgate of my truck without going through so much pain. Now, I
can enjoy my grandson's, pick them up, and play with them. It just
doesn't make sense......sorry everyone else......just had to get this
off my chest!

Are you really that dumb?  Pretty near all of us on the group would be
included in the "people like you" that you would lump Harv in with.  Yes we
are in pain, yes we would like to not be in pain.  No we aren't foolish
enough to believe that the cure for all kinds of arthritis is available but
is lurking out there in your website for only $34.95.

I thought you promised to go away if the majority didn't show an interest in
your nonsense.  They didn't so go away already.

Well said Jo.  I would add  that some of  us are doing very well on
our medications and are not in pain.  Remission is great thanks to
Remicade.  Also Jes your story doesn't ring true.  Bextra was a
miracle cure?   Remicade is a DMARD, Bextra is not I can't believe
your Dr didn't have you on an anti-inflammatory before bextra.  An
anti-iflammatory would never be a substitute for a DMARD.  I know
about collagen II they are experimenting with it, but only for early
RA, you are playing a dangerous game suggesting people can get off
their meds by using a dietary supplement. No thanks don't want the
$34.95 internet cure!   -- MZ

Mary,

Apparently you don't believe I have RA and have had it since 2001. I
never said people should get off of their meds by using something like
type II collagen. That's their choice. All I know is that I haven't
taken any of my meds for almost 2 months now and have had relief from
pain that I hadn't had in almost 5 years of suffering with RA. Also, as
I mentioned before, I took Naproxen, methotrexate, plaquenil, VIOXX,
Celebrex, BEXTRA, and Mobic AMONG OTHERS. (By the way (if you weren't
aware), BEXTRA, CELEBREX, VIOXX, and MOBIC are COX-2 inhibitors.) I was
on Remicade for about a year and a half and just got tired of going in
every six weeks for 2 weeks of pain relief each time. At least now, I'm
not worrying about the side effects and high costs of those drugs.
(Paid $66 on my last prescription of a 30 day supply of Mobic with
insurance involved). My intention was to spread the word to others who
suffer like I did. Yes, I could profit from this, but I'm not about to
give anyone a bunch of lies if this product hadn't helped me like it
has. My final word.....it's been a pleasure.

I am going to put an important spin on this.  Sometimes it takes awhile for
a med to go out of the system.  Going off remicade for 2 months it probably
hasn't completely gone out of the system and residuals are working.  However
joint damage is still occurring.  Also sometimes the disease wanes and peaks
(not with me unfortunately).  The temptation is to stop dmards.
Unfortunately again damage can occur because you still have the disease.

If you can afford to spend this money and it does not hurt you in any way go
for it.  Remember though, the disease process is still there and damage
could be happening to your joints, this person although well meaning and I
don't think vicious is not a practicing doctor.  She does not know any
interactions with other meds you might be taking.  I would only take it if I
personally had a lawyer draw up a document saying the company would
guarantee it was safe for me to take, the product was pure and that the
person could be sued if medical advice (which this is) was given.  Seems to
me this is prescribing a med.

I love to hear about a product helping - goodness knows there are some
holistic products out there that do help.  Milk thistle, gls etc. come to
mind.  However, without proper research I personally would not want to risk
my joints.  Finger joints, elbow joints, shoulder joints and toe joints are
not easily fixed as some of us know.

Jess, I have scoliosis and multiple back surgery. I am uneven in many
places. Lately my the stuff that connects the ribs with the breastbone
is going haywire, causing many problems. I think that stuff is
cartilage, so do you think those pills could help keep the cartilage I
have. I would be grateful just for that.

Hi Mindy,   I hope you talk to your doctor about your ribs.   I have had two
series of injections with steroid to help with pain caused by inflamed
cartilage that really helped or put out the fire for awhile.

Hello Mindy, Here is one place where I agree with Harv :) .... I would
definitely talk to your doctor first, especially to make sure it is
cartilage that you think it might be......and even ask him about the
Type II collagen. Type II collagen is known to replenish the cartilage
since as we get older our body's ability to replenish it diminishes.
Our joints need that cartilage to prevent the bone on bone effect. I'd
be happy to provide you a free bottle of this product, but talk to your
doctor first. Then email me directly if you want to give it a try.....
Take care
