Home again from my Canadian adventure.  We took the ferry from Port
Hardy to Bella Coola 2.5 days on the Ferry!  The ferry was great they
stopped to watch a pod of 10-12 Orcas for about 45 minutes then a
humpback whale made an appearance quite the show!  Even some spy
hopping by the Orcas. The ferry ride was fun the staff was very
accommodating and even allowed us up in the bridge.  They were willing
to stop the Ferry for 45 minutes of whale watching .  Bella Coola is
breathtaking similar to SE Alaska or Yosemite, deep fjords and glacial
polished mountains.  We sea kayaked around Bella Coola and many lakes
along the way. Watched the carving of a totem pole.  Even managed to
see a huge Grizzly bear,  he must have been around 600 lbs. Northern
lights gave us a bit of a show dancing across the skies.  We didn't
stay long near the Thompson- Fraser  River area due to the fire and
smoke (sorry Rose didn't get near you, but we did drive through Hope).
Loved hearing the loons and their mournful cries.  Great fun and BC,
as always is spectacular country.
