I have a colleague who was just diagnosed with this and wants some info but
we all know how overwhelming the internet can be when you are using search
engines. Does anyone have any favorite sites? Also, is there an active
newsgroup that I can share with her?
thanks all!
Alison
BTW... I'm doing well but lying low for now. next RD appt is friday and I
know she's going to push remicade. I think I will try the humira first as it
is closer to the enbrel, which is what I'm on now.

Alison, don't know any links, but several people on this NG have
fibromyalgia. Invite your friend here.

You could tell her about:
http://www.talkaboutsupport.com/group/alt.med.fibromyalgia/
It's a support group, much like this one (I think you can get to this
group from talkaboutsupport as well).
I used Humira, it did nothing to help me at all. Enbrel however, is
still (touch wood) working like a little charm.
Smokie Darling (Annie) - but then I have always been "unique"

These are a few good ones. Clouds is a support group.
Then there is the one that Mike and Annie suggested. Another ng like this
one...But like Mike said...There are alot of trolls and seems like someone
is always flaming...
I mostly just lurk there.
I also have FM and OA and psuedogout, depression and anxiety problems...
This is a great group for your friend as well.

http://www.rheumatics.com/
go to the index of the web site and then disease index.
He has some info there for your friend.
Good luck with your DMARD choice.

Best combination of information and support on neurological problems is
Brain Talk:

Hi Alison. The best link that I know of, and a favorite over in the
Fibromyalgia newsgroup (alt.med.fibromyalgia) is:

In answer to your second question, Alison, the best newsgroup that I know of
is alt.med.fibromyalgia, of which I've been a participant for many years.
However, unfortunately, there is a "flame war" going on over there right
now, but if you sift through the posts, you will find some good info to
share with your friend. Nanny
