I was diagnosed with Diabetes about 10 years ago and was told after a knee
surgery that I had massive arthritis and to be careful. Was riding my bike
the other day and of course rode to much or to hard but developed two Bakers
Cysts on the back of my knees and they are just a bit painful. Any one go
thru one of these and how do you get rid of them. My daughter said that they
usually lance them but My Doc just looks at them and does nothing?

Ouch!!!

Those bakers cysts can be so painful!!!

Many doctors will drain them and then inject some steroids into the
joint to help relieve the pain and inflammation.  I have found that
rheumatologists are more comfortable doing this than primary care
doctors are, as a general rule.  If left alone, sometimes they will go
away on their own and other times they will continue to enlarge and
eventually rupture.   When they rupture, they can be even more painful
and cause swelling in your ankle and foot as the fluid drains down into
your lower leg.

Sorry you are having to deal with this type of situation, and good luck
in getting things taken care of!
