Prayers greatly needed and appreciated.
Two boys (16 and 17) who go to high school with my daughter were in a
terrible wreck in the early morning yesterday. Neither was wearing a
seat belt and both were ejected from the vehicle. The 17 year old was
killed and the 16 year old driver is in critical condition at the VUMC
trauma center. His facial structure was pushed clear back to where his
ears belong and his legs were crushed and there is some swelling of his
brain. Good news is that the doctor held up two fingers today and
asked him how many and he blinked twice. He is fighting the tube down
his throat. He is scheduled for surgery to begin reconstructing his
face. The newspaper said he has already been charged with vehicular
homicide in his friend's death. Please pray for both of these families
and friends as they struggle through this.
Thank you
Angela

Added to list.
We've had a few cases here where the driver is horribly injured and
the passengers have been killed or badly injured, and has to face the
charges, too.

You have them Angela. We just lost three young people
here who all lost their life and they too were not
wearing their seat belts. I really don't understand why
they didn't grow up wearing them and be used to them so
it is second nature to just put them on. How very sad
for them all.

Oh, how sad! Definitely add my prayers to the list for these families
and all that are close to them. This has to be so heartwrenching!
We, too, just lost an entire family this past weekend to a car accident.
The family was taking a ride in a newly restored old dusenberg car which
did not have any seat belts in it. The car was broadsided and the
entire family (both parents and 3 children ages 7,8 and 10) were ejected
and died. Sad thing is, the father was a firefighter and the mother
was a nurse and should have known the risks of not having a seat belt in
use!
