We saw this on the news last night and my cousin sent this to my email:

Good to know!
Subject: In case of emergency ICE

Paramedics will turn to a victim's cell phone for clues to that
person's identity. You can make their job much easier with a simple
idea that they are trying to get everyone to adopt: ICE.

ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. If you add an entry in the
contacts list in your cell phone under ICE, with the name and phone no.
of the person that the emergency services should call on your behalf,
you can save them a lot of time and have your loved ones contacted
quickly. It only takes a few moments of your time to do.

Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately. ICE
your cell phone NOW!

Hi DeeTee!

I saw this on the news as well and it definitely sounds like a good idea
and one that is very simple to implement!!!   I think everyone should do
this not only on their cell phones, but also their home phones as well.

Sounds like a good idea.  Better check with your local emergency
people.  I got disillusioned when I tried to find out about my
MedicAlert decal location.  We'll still put it in the cell phone.  I'm
thinking that maybe "mother" or "husband", etc, might be better as the
two times that my mom could have used it was when she fell in the
store's parking lot and the people at the store were helping her.

I don't know if I would use it or not.  Great concept, but after one stolen
cell phone I always leave mine locked with a passcode.  They'd never get as
far as the directory.
