I couldn't remember if I had brought this up before or not.  I've read
quite often about people being able to up their prednisone if they had
a flare.  I'm not able to take prednisone because they feel that is
what caused the cryptococcal sinusitis that I had in 1990, so no
doctor will prescribe the pills.  The cortisone shots are all right,
but I'm not to take anything that can build up the steroid level in my
blood.

Hi Loujean,,,,  Daily prednisone is bad for lots of folks and a shot in the
butttt used to last me from 4-6 months but Enbrel almost put a stop for the
need to do it.
In all truth, the shot ends up in a persons bloodstream also.

I agree that the shot ends up in the bloodstream; but it doesn't get
to build up to a point where the fungus, which I had and everybody
really has in their environment, got out of control.  I've not had
that many cortisone shots because my Orthopedics doctor will only give
so many.  The last time, he said the next solution to my knee problem,
would be a TKR.  That's when I read about Hyalgan and my RD was
willing to try it.  My knee works pretty well now, though I do have
some trouble with the bursitis around it.  Sure is hard to take it
easy when you feel good, isn't it?
