I have a PPO and the dr I used, worked for a big HMO. I'm in a big flare
(thank God for the prednisone from my dog) and no one can see me until Aug
18. I had a drs appt before then... then the receptionist tells me my
doctor resigned. Stupid receptionist (who's always a witch said I could
see a NP upstairs - who's a bigger witch cuz she hates when the patient
knows what's going on or just go to urgent care... which sucks) No one
knows where he went or what he's doing.
He's a bad HMO doctor so I'm hoping that he opens his own practice or
something. I can go anywhere but now I need to find out where he went.
I love the PA I see but I don't want to start over with a doctor... building
the relationship, trust, etc... ARGH! I just saw him a couple weeks ago...
wonder what happened.
I'm totally upset and depressed now.
I'm sure you all understand.

I agree, Nicole, nothing's worse than starting all over again with a
new doctor. I have a list of all surgical procedures, non-surgical
situations, and allergies, attached to the back of my drug list. My
drug list also lists dosage, when taken, and what for. I have it on
my computer, so it's fairly easy to update when changed. I also put a
heading on it with my name, social security number, and date of
"printing". My mother says I shouldn't put my security number on
there, but I think that's the way they're filed now.
I sympathize with your upset and depression and agree you really have
a legitimate reason for it. I will light a candle for you tomorrow
and put you in my prayers.

Wow. I do understand. Back in the fall of '01, my RD who I really liked
went out on maternity leave. I kept waiting for her to come back...... (her
replcement was ok, but only ok, whereas she was a shining star in RDs).
Finally got a letter. Turned out she'd had a commuter marriage pre-baby and
they wanted to all be in the same place. What worked out was for her to move
to NYC, leaving us behind in Boston. I still miss her........
I hope you find out soon where your doc is and you can get to wherever he is.
