I have a question that I hope someone may help me with. I think I need to
change my RD, as he has not changed anything or done anything to help my
pain for several years. I think I need a complete new work up and find out
if I have Ra as well as OA. My question is, In Sept I finally am eligible
for Medicare. will Medicare pay for my visit to a new RD.? Will I need a
referral from my doctor?
thanks
Janice

Janice, the new RD probably will require a referral from your doctor.
Medicare will pay for your going.  If you have a supplement to Medicare, it
will also pay on what Medicare doesn't pay.  I have Plan F and it pays
everything that Medicare doesn't pay.

I agree you will need a new referral and a complete work up.  With all
the new drugs available, you need some one who is open-minded about
all the new treatments available.  Also, we change, too.  Good luck.
