a 3rd level comcast tech had to talk me through getting my password to work
for newsgroups.  she even had a few problems with it when she logged in as
me.   comcast changed its newsgroups from giganews back to comcast, which
meant resetting all the account data and it just wouldn't work right for me.
all fixed!<grin>

Oooh,  I have been talked through several times and things.   It does feel

The worst part of talking some one through something is you can't see
them reaching for the wrong button and then all at once they say it
ain't working!
