i'm glad it's helping you, bonnie.  i'm confused, though.  so, if the
tylenol is helping and the voltaren didn't help you, does that mean you are
not having a problem with inflammation in your shoulder?

I switched to Tylenol arthritis (extended release caplets 650 mgs) and
took myself off Voltaren (100mg) to test the stronger Tylenol.  I do
have inflammation and will see an Ortho in two weeks.

Tylenol Rapid Release gels are only 500 mg.

Ever think that maybe the Voltaren has to build up in your system before
it provides relief?

Some meds are like that......

Well I was told that it can take 2-3 hours for Voltaren to kick in (and
last 8 hrs), but 100 mgs is pretty low dose 1x a day.

I have takem myself off Voltaren to try the Tylenol Arthritis-- So far I
take it twice a day x 2 pills = 4 pills a day

Eat well if you take Tylenol Arthritis (650 mgs) It can bother your
stomach

Bonnie, Tylenol is not supposed to bother your stomach.  Are you sure that
was what caused you problems?  It is just about the safest thing you can
take for stomach.

I think the arthritis Tylenol also has caffeine in it, to enhance the effects
of the acetaminophen.  maybe it's the caffeine that bothers your stomach,
especially if you are lying down not long after taking it.

Wellll then, stomach problems can be expected.  The only thing harder on a
persons stomach than Sodas and NSAIDs is prednisone.   I had a brush with
acid reflux but I changed to a better brand of bourbon with distilled water
and gave up the Sodas.   :-)

Well....soda don't bother me depending on what I am drinking--but
usually PEPSI-- and I am NOT on prednisone.   I just try to eat good.

I just checked the ingredients on my bottle of Tylenol Arthritis, and it
does not have caffeine in it.

Ortho doc office did finally call........

Voltaren IS a "build up medication"--has to build up in system--before
you get relief

And that it was OK to switch off of it (voltaren) to the Tylenol
650--til I see him on 8-1-05

Nurses were in error
