My big dog (pound puppy) has suddenly become ill. Oh my,,,, I just had a flash back to all that was involved in having to put my little Chelsea to sleep. The cancer had gotten into her lungs and life was just too painful after two procedures. After the vet did some tests, the result was she had Cushing's Syndrome. He put her on Mitatine, a half tablet every third day and she is doing fine now. The pills are a little expensive, but I only have to get them every 3rd or 4th month. There was a resultant situation of stones in the bladder, but surgery fixed that and now she is a very happy puppy (actually, she is 12-1/2 years old) and liver has reduced, stomach is in normal place. Anyway he's on a special diet and SAM-E. I added milk thistle and Vitamin E which I read is good for a dog with liver disease. Not unusual, but none of us are blood relatives. My older daughter just got a new dog whose name is Karma. Polls show 8 out of 5 schizophrenics agree. I had a cat who died strangely and the only thing the vet found wrong with her otherwise healthy body was cirrhosis of the liver.
