alison, i was able to get an appt with dr zorn for the end of august.
first they said they were booking into october, because of the
retirement of a local rheumatologist. then i trotted out your name as
my referral source and explained that i would be due for remicade sept
2nd. and they gave me an appt that will allow me to keep on my remicade
schedule. duckie, i know this is a concern for you, too. start making
calls now.

I have to wait as we don't know where we will be living
yet and the insurance varies for us county to county.
Could it get more complicated. I am getting Dr. D to
give me a referral to one of his friends and will let
him handle it. hehehe  That way I will get in right
away [she hopes].

that sounds like a good solution, duckie. hope it works. is this
stressful, or what?
alison, if i may pick your brain again, do you have a primary care
physician you like?

thanks,

I just went to one in Garner, which is just outside of Raleigh. She was nice
and very thorough. She is part of Garner internists. They have a website.
Yahoo garner internist NC and it will pull up. Her name is karen mayer.
She's relatively young - has young children anyway. I'm not very picky about
primary care drs because I don't use them much at all. I rarely get sick and
being 34, I only need physicals every few years. As long as I know they are
bing throrough in their exams and lab work, and they have a good bed side
manner, I'm happy... LOL

Dr. Zorn did give me a few names in raleigh though, if you want me to email
them (I don't feel comfortable posting her recommendations over the
internet) She also gave me some ophthalmologists in raleigh if you need
one... I haven't made any appts for one yet.

sorry, I gave the wrong practice name...here's the website...
http://www.garnerinternalmedicine.com/

I should have also mentioned that I blindly picked this doctor (karen Mayer)
from the list on BCBS. I wanted a female who was close by and was an
internist... She fit the bill... I figured that if she didn't give a good
first impression, then I would look elsewhere... But like I said, I'm happy.

hi alison,
i would appreciate the names of the docs. garner is too far for me for
a pc doc (i'll be in N. raleigh). would also appreciate the
optholomologist names.

thanks!

that's great!! I'm glad a name drop worked... She's relatively new to
private practice so I'm sure they want to please new referrals. I just heard
about the retirement of one of the RD's here. Apparent she was very well
sought after and will be missed... Let me know what you think...
