I'm OK, but don't live in London Amy, just getting the news here at
the moment, still a bit sketchy. Have posted on UPSA to let people who
may live in or near London to let you know how they are.

Alison [who lives in London] has just posted on UPSA.

After my last post [about me not living in London] I realised my
Nephew and his partner both live in London. A phone call to my brother
confirms Nephew OK [working from home today] and his partner [Jackie]
also OK working at the BBC [only concern is how to get home this
evening] not really a problem, they both still are alive.

May I send my prayers to anyone who has relatives or friends killed or
injured in this outrage.

Hi, DeeTee
I left a message for Hildagh 2 weeks ago, but no response. I've just done
the same again, and will post if I hear from her. She's in NE London so some
way away from the bombs today.
She could be in Ireland if her Mum is ill.

I am so glad to hear that Hildagh and Peter are fine. Rich, Katie and I
had the honor of meeting them several years ago while in London. They
are wonderful, warm and very charming!!
Rich and I were talking about how much we enjoy London just yesterday
and considering saving $$ to make a trip to the 2012 Olympics. I would
love to take the girls. It's a wonderful city!! I have no doubt that
the city will recover after this horrible attack and come out
stronger....London is full of strong people who will not cower before
cowards.

Waking up to this news brings back some terrible memories.  It also
reminds me of how vunerable we all are to terrorism.  Our prayers are
with those killed and inujured today by lunatics and for their families.

OMG! What a nightmare. I just went scouring the net for news and am very
concerned about Hildagh and Peter. I know he works at the University,
but don't know if they are even in town right now.

My thoughts and condolences to all my firends in the UK. I hope you are
all safe from harm.

I agree Kelly, without a doubt. My reply was more on behalf of a wider
audience of people here in the UK who might not even know about
usenet, but are not going to be beaten by these killers just the same.

Ok Here as well.

I used to work and live in London. I also did a milk round in the East
End when I was young and went to school almost opposite The London
Hospital which received many of the casualties.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the injured and bereaved.

Talk about mindless ! What have innocent people done to deserve this
sort odfdeath and destruction ?

The maniacs who did this are a menace to the world, especially to
ordinary people who simply want to live their lives honestly and
peacefully. Do they really think that this sort of thing is going to
get them to heaven, more likely they will meet a devil of their own
making.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Having lived through 9/11 in
NYC, I know all too well what you are all going through.

I've been to London many times and have been on the train that goes
through Edgware Road as I stay at a little B&B in Paddington that I
discovered.

Hugs,
Carole

Ps   when my daughter was getting here masters, they used to study near
where one of the blasts happened but she is up in Leeds now.   I wish she
would just come home but who is to say that Houston is safe from the same.
It is a sign of our times.

Just human nature Harv.  If we can't keep our loved ones safe, we at least
want to keep them close.  And adult children seldom understand.  I was so
grateful that on 9/11 I was online with my brother (Washington DC) as he
checked in with his kids )New York Financial Center, State Dept
and with assorted nieces and nephews.  I knew within ten minutes that
everyone was present and accounted for.

What a horrific turn of events!
My thoughts and prayers are with all the wounded.
I am glad to hear from many of our British ASA members. Thankfully
they were not injured.
