I haven't been here in a long time, but that doesn't mean my arthritis
remitted. On the contrary.............
My neck has been pretty lousy, so I'm seeing a new PT now. He's really
good, and I think we're making progress. The cervical DDD is painful,
but not enough for anything drastic, thank God. Just hovers and annoys,
mostly.
My right hip is well...... my right hip. I've not had the major, major
debilitating hip bursitis or sacroiliitis since I started the Enbrel
three years ago. Amazing. But, my OA has progressed to moderate,
complete with joint space loss and spurs. I sure can feel it, but again
it's not something that requires drastic measures yet. Hopefully,
never. I do not want another surgery.
My heel pain has been miserable. I will see the podiatrist on monday
morning, and hopefully she'll offer something that will help. PT was
helpful for a while, I suppose, about a year ago, but nothing ever seems
to be a permanent fix. Like anything has a permanent fix. Who am I
kidding? About 6 months ago, she injected my right heel with cortisone
to quiet down the bursitis and plantar fascitis. Holy sh.t, did that
hurt. I mean ...... HURT. But, it was quick and the effect was
magical. It did the trick. I know I cannot always get injections, and
the thought of another one scares the crap outta me. I am such a pain
wus.
I have Dupuytren's contracture returned to my left hand. The same one
that had the surgery for it a few years ago. This time, it is affecting
the fascia at the base of my thumb. It's not painful, and my thumb
isn't contracting yet, so I'm just monitoring. My RD wanted me to see
the hand surgeon, but I told him I don't want to. Not yet. He agreed.
My left knee and both elbows seem to have chronic tendonitis. My
headaches have returned, along with major heartburn. This post is
getting too long............
All in all, I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in. And, it's
friday!!!!!!! Life is good.

hi di, good to hear from you even if the news isn't good. i'm sorry
you're dealing with so much. this disease just affects everything,
doesn't it? i don't blame you for wanting to put off surgeries as long
as you can. i'm in that club too.
don't stay away so long,

Di, it was good to hear from you again. I also enjoyed looking at your

thanks all, for the welcome back. I think I'll stick around for a
while. :-)
Today is MTX day, so I have this misery making headache, and I feel kind
of like crap, but I'm doing OK. It's getting late in the afternoon, and
I'm not even dressed yet. My doggie is bored. My cat is screeching for
god knows what, and the kitchen is a mess. I love saturdays. <g>

Hi Di!
Glad to see you posting again and sorry to hear you are having such a
rough time of it!
How are things at work these days for you? Any improvement? Are you
still considering moving at all?
Give Zuki a big hug from his ASA family and glad you made it through the

Thanks, Donna. Things at work are going really really well. We have a
new superintendent, and he's a keeper. I'm not considering moving
anymore. I like my job. My boss is great. I love my house. And, life
is pretty good. I'm kinda happy now, so I don't want to move.
Complacency is a good thing sometimes. <g>
Zuki gives you a big kiss back.

Di, all that sounds really great. Just wishing the arthritis could get with
the program.
