For some reason I've been thinking about you house sale a lot today.
Regarding "too dark"
Not saying to repaint your house, but what would it cost to have it
repainted? That could be something the realtor offers to any prospective
buyer. An offer to have it repainted in the color of their choice.
Now it is possible that the too dark was just in the potential buyers point
of view. The way I learned that Charlie needed cataract surgery was his
turning on and leaving on every light in the house. It was dark to him.
Would it be a good idea to replace some of the light bulbs with a higher
wattage than you prefer? Or to suggest that the realtor turn more lights on
when there is anyone looking?
Wanting to see you properly settled on the left coast ASAP.

There were no lights on because the agent came 30
minutes early. Usually we have every light on that will
turn on for the open houses. And with the sun out, this
house is light and airy in most rooms except the
basement. The house exterior does not need painting as
it was done the year after the new roof and with three
stories and scaffold needed for the driveway section,
the cost of that is pretty high. One agent did say that
if it was painted white, it would appear from the
outside as big as it actually is inside. Again not a
reason to paint.
Guess we should have had an open house this weekend so
they could compare the princeton house to this one. I
popped over to see it today and it is so tiny and
priced 24,900 less. So for 25K you get a lot more house
here than there. Good to be able to compare the two houses.
Maybe something will happen while we are in Oregon. She
is going to be showing it in our absence. Thanks for
thinking. I can use all the brain cells. Might take
Walt's suggestion about offering the agents a trip to
Hawaii for selling it. Now is that one trip for the our
agent and one for buyer's agent or is it just for the
buyer's agent?

A trip for two for the buyer's agent. The goal is to find a buyer, and your
agent can also take advantage of the offer by finding a buyer.
BTW, any agent that doesn't go through and turn on all the lights is a rank
amateur.

That was the buyer's agent. I was stuck in my office
with my kitties so I have no idea what the agent was
doing. But if their buyer thought it was dark, then I
am guessing they failed to turn on the lights.
