Long time no post, eh? Yeah, always the prodigal one, I am. So Tish and I are going to Gimpfest FOR SURE. However, we'd planned on going Saturday evening, staying over, and then maybe even staying Sunday night as well and having some time to ourselves in Portland. Well, it turns out she's finalizing an adoption on Monday so she has to be back at work. So she's trying to get out of work on Saturday so we can come down Friday night. NO promises, but it's a maybe... We're working on it, but it will be severely last minute! Oh well, what can you do? One way or another we'll make it happen. The hotel still has openings, so we're ok so far. (knock on wood!) I have to run, she's due home and has had a very rough day, worked 18 hours (I worked 11, but that's not 18, so I'm going to get her some low-carb, sugar free, nondairy ice cream and surprise her.. yes, it exists, believe it or not!) Each of us knows just enough about paddling to get in major arguments when we've tried to navigate a canoe. We could both do with some learning experiences - especially where we live now, with all these lakes and rivers around.
