DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 09 Jun 2005 22:07 GMT
Hi, everybody! Bob sprung me from the hospital this afternoon and I'm
finally home! Thank you so very much for the prayers and well
wishes...believe me, I felt each one there in my hospital bed(s).  It has
been a VERY rough week.  I literally look as though someone took a baseball
bat to my arms what with all the blown IVs and blood draws.  The most
obvious ones of course are the IVs up in my biceps.  Yes, I said biceps.
All the lower arm veins got used up after the first four days and they had
to keep going up.  Anyway, it's over now and I'm home.

The gall bladder was "just a sack full of rocks" according to one of the
interns.  The surgeon was surprised because I had "the prettiest
non-functioning gall bladder" she had ever seen.  The xray, contrast, and
ultrasound all showed a perfect gall bladder, but the nuclear HIDA scan
showed that it filled up with bile, but never did anything with it...except
make more stones, I guess. And then, when they pulled the tubing after
surgery, my lungs filled up with fluid. So 24 hours in the ICU to get that
taken care of.  It was not pleasant.

So now I just have to heal up a little - get some rest, you know - while
packing and moving. ROFL!!  We have 25 offers to sort through tomorrow,
several at $20K over our asking price - sorry, Duckie!  So we're on our way
to better days.

Love you guys!!!

so glad you're back and sounding just like your old self! it must be a
huge relief to have that over and done with. feel well soon and get a
lot of help packing. i've been hiring people off craigslist.com and
they have been worth double what i'm paying them.

congrats on the 25 offers. incredible! i'd settle for 20% of that.

Welcome back DeeTee.  Sure glad they finally found what was making you so
sick and doing something about it.  Hope you will recuperate quickly, but
please don't over do with the sale of the house, etc.  Wonderful that you
can take your pick of the offers and even over your asking price.  Hope
Duckie has good luck on her's and also Diane and John.

So glad everything went well.  I still can't believe
the crazy DC-area housing market--wish I were
ready to sell now, but I've got 2-1/2 years to go
before retirement.

Welcome back.  Make sure you do take some time to heal.  When my Mum had
hers out, she stopped on the way home to do some grocery shopping.  Amazing.

Weeelllllll - after I dropped Bob off at the metro this morning, I did stop
and stock up on fruit.  Rob is here so he's going to bring it in from the
car for me.  Tonight Bob and I will go and get real groceries...I get the
ride around cart.  I am sure I will not be allowed to carry any of them
inside. :-D

Thanks, Everyone!! You're the best!

So glad you are doing well.

Had mine out 5 years ago and was a mess for three days, even though they
sent me home same day. Can't imagine driving around like that after only a
few days. But on day 7, everything came back to normal and I felt great.

Hope you continue to feel great for a while. You deserve a break!

LOL!  What a compliment!  I am so delighted to hear you are home again and
recuperating.  Take care and recover quickly.  And chance the gall baldder
was the source of the other GI stuff you had going on?  It'd sure be nice if
you took care of several things with this one operation!

You folks always make me rejoice at my loverly veins......  i've had
phlebotomist call them hoses!  heehee  I'm a well circulated person!  heehee
