john and i want to get a king sized bed. although i love the ability to
make my select comfort mattress as soft as i need it, i have never been
happy with the way it makes me/us roll toward the middle of the bed.
we're trying to figure out if the comfortaire would be any better. does
anyone here use it?

We got the comfortaire top of the line, it cost less than the cheapest
Select comfort.

No one around here rolls to the center. (It would really annoy the cats
anyway) But then both of us set it fairly firm. And we're both pretty much
too big to roll easily. So your mileage may vary.
We have had it for a year and a half and love it..

Diane, did you remove the support/divider from the middle of the bed? If
so, that could cause it.

hi gwen,
no the divider is still there. i've read of other people having this
problem too.

I would call the company and ask them what to do. That
call would be cheaper than the new bed. And I am
guessing your bed is still so new that it might be
under some sort of warranty that would cover a fix.
BTW, when we are ummmm friendly, we always go to one
side or the other so we never laid on that middle foam
section. And the foam section is at least an inch above
the bladder.
During the open houses, I blow up both sides as high as
possible and then pat on the foam so the bed top levels
out better and doesn't look like a worn out mattress
which it isn't. Without blowing it up, it looks like an
8 cut in half length wise and laid on it's side. So
see, our foam is still working. Does yours look like
that when the bed is made?

duckie, i am having a terrible time picturing this: "Without blowing it
up, it looks like an
8 cut in half length wise and laid on it's side."
anyhow, i know the foam is there. if i take the bed apart, it looks
perfectly normal: bladder, foam, bladder. but when we lie down, we
roll to the middle. even if i'm on the bed alone it happens, and it's
happened for years. i've just ignored it while i was sleeping alone.
now it's kind of hard to ignore.

Well how about a 3 turned on it's side. Makes our bed
look like it is sagging on both sides. I really think
something is wrong. Have you called the company? It
sounds as if the foam was installed incorrectly.

Diane -- we are in an older SC and never roll to the
middle. The middle is actually higher. I am guessing
you never had the middle foam installed or it had
broken down too much. Can you unzip the cover and see
what is there? I have a wide bit of foam separating the
two bladders.

Diane - I have a select comfort and Wayne just bought a latex foam mattress
that we love even better. I believe the brand is called Restonex. If you
can find a store that carries it in your area to try it out, I think you
will love it. I cannot lay in my select comfort still since I had my spine
fractures but I can sleep in the new mattress. If I can give you any more
info on it just email me.
