I have fibromyalgia and arthritis.

Due to spinal problems and surgery, it is difficult to sleep on my back.

When I sleep on my side with a pillow between legs, I wake up with great hip
pain at the front and sides of my hips.  Both hips hurt.

ANY SUGGESTIONS, websites, or products would be helpful.

Thank you.

I will provide the  URLs of the sleep items that I use.  The Cuddlewe has a
lot of information on FMS on their board

Cuddlewe has apparently been bought by a company called Merlo (?) and sells
thru distributors. Here is one of the distributors I just called
http://www.biogro.us/cuddleewe.html?OVRAW=cuddlewe&OVKEY=cuddleewe&OVMTC=standard

Something very interesting, the guy that answered the phone wanted to put me
in touch with a lady that was " cured" of FMS.   I turned him down.  but
there are other distributors if these are jerks.

I also have a Nature's Rest Latex Bed.  http://www.naturesrest.com   But
when I bought this they sold the mattress as a set with an adjustable bed.
It seems that they no longer sell the adjustable bed, only the mattress.
If works wonderful for me, usually.
The best sleep that I get is when I am not lying flat.  on the setup that I
have.  Sleeping like this does seem to cause me to dry out and my throat,
tongue and mouth feel like the tissue is ready to split if I do not get a
drink very soon.

Some times I sleep on the bed flat and use a body pillow. This is the
easiest way to fall asleep when I am having trouble the other way.  But I
find that my sinuses will fill up on the side of my head toward the pillow.
If I roll to the other side, the sinuses drain to the other side of my head,
pillowside down.

If you can not afford the bed that I use, which was about $2,700 about 5
years ago.  At the very least, getting the cuddlewe will help you immensely.

I "use" to tell people that if they bought the cuddlewe and they did not
like it, if the company would not take it back, I would buy it from them.  I
ended up buying one for my wife from the company.   Either no one was
dissatisfied or no one listened to me and bought the underquilt.

The first thing you should do is see a RD
[rheumatologist] who is the right person to treat your
pain.
You might him for good suggestions on why your hips
hurt. My guess is that you are in a mattress which is
no longer the right for your body. Lots of us here love
the Select Comfort and others love the thermal mattress
pads. Too hard is bad for fibro and too soft is no good
for a bad back. Both I mentioned help with both. I
prefer the Select Comfort as I have had to replace my
thermo pillow which I can no longer sleep without and I
would hate to have to do that with a thermal mattress
every three years. The pillow is expensive enough. Even
tried to use a cheap one and that was not money well spent.
As for web sites here is the best for thorough info
[keep in mind that this is run by a South African
doctor and each country has different names for the
same medications so what he might mention may not be
the same name in your country which I am guessing is
USA based on your email address].
