Hi Everyone!

Just a quick note (as I'm still not supposed to be typing just yet!) to
tell you all thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers during
my most recent hospital stay!

I am feeling better and thankfully this time there was no signs of
infection.   Pretty much just pure asthma that got really bad. (boy are
my wrists killing me from having 5-6 blood gases drawn.   Not fun!)
Most likely trigger is the humidity as it has been very, very rainy and
humid here over the last several weeks and humidity is a big trigger for
me.  They did find a new nodule in my left lung, and we will have to
look into that a bit further, as the nodule was not there in
february/march when I had my bronchoscopy done.   Hopefully it turns out
to be no big deal.  I have been home for several days and have mostly
just been sleeping.   Feeling a bit stronger though.   Am tapering down
from the usual 60 mg of pred and also from having to be up to 7 liters
per min on my oxygen.  Usual is 2 liters pre min on the oxygen.

The results of the lump they found in my breast, was benign and they
will just watch things for now.   Have to go back in 4 months for
another mammogram, but otherwise all is good on that end.

Waiting for abatacept to be approved so I can get started on that, but
otherwise things are doing ok.   My CRP took a jump up from 3.0 to 7.4
and the sed rate also took a jump up, so my RD is not happy about that,
but otherwise I am doing ok.

Hand and wrist are healing up nicely although the whole scar is going
through this funky peeling thing right now.  Hopefully the ortho will
give me the ok to go back to full use and to typing when I see him the
first week of june.

Well, thats about it.   Thanks again for all your prayers, thoughts, and
well wishes.  As always, they have meant so much to me and they kept me
going through this latest blip in the road.

Hugs and blessings to you all!

Glad to hear you are doing better.

You know how you can refuse any medical procedure?  When it comes to blood
gasses, I exercise that right.  Unless it is really critical, they can rely
on the darn fingertip thingie.  Those hurt.  Especially with an unskilled
lab tech.

So glad you are back home and recovering nicely. One
day at a time.
As for that scar, vitamin E [you can get a tiny bottle]
is just the thing. Massage the area with the oil a
couple times a day. It will help the scab thing come
right off and help the scar heal. If there are some
areas still bloody do not massage that area hard but do
put on the oil and gently rub with your finger tips.
The massage should help keep any adhesions from forming.
Welcome home.

Or Vit E comes in these cool little packets - er capsules.  I just bite off
one end, squeeze out what I need to apply, the chew up the rest of it.  They
don't taste bad at all.  But I guess a needle or scissors would be more
sanitary.

Donna, thank you so much for letting us know how you are doing.  You have
had so many problems; am praying they let up for the rest of the year at
least.  Do take it easy and don't type too much!  We want you to get much
better very quickly. Still in my prayers.

Thanks for the update and I am so delighted that this hospital trip was a
brief one.  Now go rest that hand and wrist until the doc gives you clearance
to talk to us some more!  Hugs to ya......

so good to see you on group again, sweetie.  soundss like mostly good news
for you.  as soon as your doc allows, ask if you can have pt for that hand.
it really did help expedite healing and strength improvement and scar
reduction (along with melinda's magical salve) for me enormously.  i
especially loved the "warm ups" leading to the pt itself---the parafin dips
and the ultrasound treatments helped a lot and made me feel pampered---but
then, i'm such a hedonist.LOL.

praying the nodule is small potatoes (ummm . . . not literally, cuz why
would you have planted potatoes there?<smile>)  and that the abatacept gets
started for you soon and lowers your crp and sed rates wonderfully well.

love and hugs, sweetie.
