just yesterday, i discovered springsteen is in town tonight. how i
missed that bit of news, i'll never know. of course it's sold out,
probably for months now. but in a stadium, i usually use my scooter coz
it's too much  walking on hard surfaces. so i called and asked if there
might be any gimp. . .er. . handicapped tickets left. YES! so, we're
off to see bruce.

Well lol -- there just has to be something in it for
all the pain and suffering we put up with.
I use a wheelchair at the airport and overseas you just
zoom through customs. I understand that wheelchairs get
you in Disneyland permission to cut the line.
Yep, there are some things that make it all worth
while. Have a grand time.
BTW, how did you get your scooter? Did a doctor
recommend it or did you just buy it.

duckie, re the scooter question: i've had it for years and years and
didn't even think back then to get a doc's prescription for it (this is
before i was very savvy about being a gimp). it's a rascal and i don't
need it often, but when i do, what a blessing! and when i get around to
having surgery on my foot/ankle, i am going to use it a lot.

re the concert: wow, it was so different from any other time i've seen
bruce. it was a solo acoustic concert, about 3 hours. he took a lot of
his usual e street band stuff and made it acoustic. impossible to sing
along and punch the air and do all the usual bruce concert shenanigans,
but otherwise, just amazing. like being in a living room watching a
very talented guy try out different things with his music. in the
beginning, he asked people not to clap along so as not to mess up his
"already tenuous hold on rhythm". the crowd (college campus) was
unbelievably obedient and so into it. a very different sort of concert
experience.

diane, with 1 1/2 days to deadline!!!!!!!

oh, i love springteen.  how wonderful that lucked into those tickets.  and
how clever you are diane!  i'd have never thought of calling about
handicapped tickets, because i didn't know there even was such a thing.
hope bruce was at his best and that you had a super time!
