My sister asked me to help her find a good rheumatologist. She lives
near Philadelphia. She would prefer a doctor near her home in Plymouth
Meeting or near her work in Great Valley. She is not too far from the
main line. As a last result she might consider going into Philadelphia.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

There are some very good RD's in the area, but I would suggest that she
ask her GP for a recommendation. I find that it's very helpful when my
doctors know and respect each other and, when I ask, they are glad to
talk with each other if a problem seems to overlap two specialties, or if
there is a possibility that medicine for one problem might exacerbatee
another. Also, most of my doctors are associates with the same hospital
(Abington Medical Hospital) and can easily share information when
necessary.
Some hospitals (such as AMH) have a doctor referral service which is
accessible on-line and by phone.

Susan Hoch at Hanneman is one of the best there is. She used to spend a lot
of time here, but her husband was injured in a car vs. bicycle accident and
she had to stop her participation. But she is one great lady and a great
RD.

I was seeing Dr. Krauser at Paoli Hospital. (right around the corner from
Great Valley). He's a great doc, no bullshit, but if she requires massaging
and hand holding, he's not exactly the babying type. Progressive, Aggressive
and really good at listening, tho.
