Well it is in a worked right away this time so that is
a good sign. Boy it is quiet around here. Guessing the
gimps at the Florida fest are a bit hung over and
tired. At least if they did it right they are.
We will see what tomorrow will bring.

Ok so how are the infusions going did you have any reactions?   Are
you feeling better?  Come on give us the full meal deal!  Inquiring
minds want to know.  You are our first Rituxan experiment.

my thoughts and questions also.

They seem to be going well. No reactions for me or the
other lady getting the same thing [we started
together]. This stuff starting working almost
immediately this time. Lady with me said with her first
dose, she stayed unstiff for the full week. She is
looking for less fatigue which she still places at
about a 10 at the moment.
My fingers have stopped aching and my wrist is pain
free -- first time in about 6 months. It has held for
two days so this is a good sign.
I did have extra stuff in my lungs yesterday and today.
Asthma related but not enough to require the emergency
inhaler. It is my impression that it is just my normal
asthma stuff and not related to the Rituxan as any
respiratory stuff is an immediate reaction related to
the drip -- not carry over reaction. Does that sentence
make sense?
I am looking for some fatigue relief as well. Two more
doses to go. If we can get the inflammation under
control, I will settle for that. Don't want to lose
another joint. Getting really tired of the surgeries to
fix them.
Only odd thing that has happened is that Acute
Posterior Vitreous Detachment.

Eye man feels that it has nothing to do with anything
but age. Happy Birthday he said.
How is that? Need more?

Hi Duckie,   You may of already answered this and if you have I am sorry but
how long does the infusion take and like with Remicade, do you take
something like Benedryl or Allegra?   Do you have any idea of the cost?

I get there at 8am. They insert the iv and draw blood.
Looking for lowered WBC. Mine run low all the time.
Asked her last time, what would they do if they dropped
lower. She said he would probably let me take the dose
cause I run low anyway. First time it was 4.11; second
time it was 4.24. So guess the Rituxan hasn't bothered
it yet. :)
The infusion once started takes 5-6 hours. Yep hours.
If they have to slow the dose down, it could take
longer. I usually am finished about 2:45 but I haven't
had any reactions.
They are suppose to give you 50mg of Benedryl iv but I
talked them into giving me 25mg pill instead. The lady
that is taking it with me is also take 25mg pill. 50mg
of Bendryl would put me into a comma. As it is, I sleep
a good 3 hours.
Sorry, have no idea about the cost and don't think the
nurses could tell me. It is going through medical and
not drug so insurance is covering it as it is being
done in hospital. Wonder if John sees the cost of the
Remicade. He pays all the bills. I will ask him
tomorrow if I remember.

YEAH!!!

w0w!  this rituxin stuff must be awesome to work so fast!  it's soooo cool
to hear how our duckie doesn't hurt as much.

you're probably right about your asthma stuff, and i understood your
"carry-over" sentence, but isn't there a nurse or doctor nearby who could
reassure you about it?  maybe a good idea to ask?  you know me, just an old
worrywart.

Do they give you the infusion in the Dr office or in a hospital?  No
flu like symptoms?   In the beginning they used to give RA patients a
big dose of steroids before the infusion.  I guess they don't need to
do that anymore?   Great that it is working so fast.   After all of
this I hope you feel as well as I do on Remicade.  Remission how sweet
it is.  -- MZ
