When I woke up yesterday post ear surgery I felt fine. Even went and got an
x-ray on my hand and got my MTX labs done.
Came home and took a nap and work up with a puffy "black eye" in the surgery
side. Really pretty much all the tissue around the eye red and puffy. It
was even worse this morning. Swollen nearly shut. Charlie finally dug my
post op instruction out of one of his pockets in the dirty clothes and it
doesn't address this. He called the ENT office several hours ago and hasn't
heard back.
I really have no idea if I should ice it or try heat you just do nothing.
As it is I know the whole side of my face is going to be discolored for
weeks.
It's kind of what you would expect from plastic surgery.

Jo, I'm certainly no expert, but I think I would try ice on it for the
swelling.

Or even just a tea bag, damp, will reduce swelling (honest, I've used
it for the under eye "luggage" I get occasionally). I use Lipton tea
bags, don't know about herbals, as I've never tried that. Hmmm, I
wonder if Chamomile would work.
Hope you get this taken care of, and the silly @ssed docs office calls
you back.
Smokie Darling (Annie) - Off to try out the Chamomile tea bag.

Ice, for sure, no more than 20 minutes at a time.

Hi Jo,,, I can only tell you what I would do until I heard from someone in
the know.... I would ice it on and off for 15min at a time.

((((((((((Jo))))))))) I'd start with ice for now as it sounds like it's from
post-op bleeding and you don't know for certain where it's coming from. I
hope the doc calls back soon. The fact that this isn't even addressed in
their standard paperwork concerns me a bit.

Jo, I am glad to hear that your surgery went well...I hope that the doctor
has called you by now. Seems to me they would answer any questions like that
pretty quickly...
Am anxiously awaiting to hear of any news of the results of your surgery...
Hugs Cindy

Make up a really good story about how you got the black eye. Make sure
it includes the fact that they other guy looks worse than you.
