LOL,,, I am just like the rest of you,,,, no, I am not OK but I am doing
the best I can. This TB medicine is really giving me a hard time but It
will not be for ever and I can get through for a few more months. I have
cut back on Enbrel to give my lungs a chance to clear up,,,, which is not
working,,,,. I have started taking prednisone every now and then(once a
week or so) to hold me shoulders at bay, so to speak. I do not post much
because if I wait,,,, one of you will do a bang up job of saying what needs
to be said.

Well, yeah, but... I can't speak for anyone else, but I certainly look
for *your* responses on questions. Almost always, you have a "smile"
in there somewhere, and it brightens *my* day (being the somewhat
selfish wench I am).
Smokie Darling (Annie) - Kinda like I look for Rosie too :D

Harv.
I always read your posts.
I hope your suffering eases and that you feel much better soon.
How are you getting on with the Enbrel - ie is it still doing the job?

Hi Peter,,,, It is doing wayyyy more than anyone could hope for. When
you use it a third or less of what they recommend and you can function
pretty well,,,
I really can not expect more. I have been treated for RA for more than 25
years. No joint replacements, and everything works better that a person
should expect. Every now and then a person just has to count their
blessings. I know people that have gone from being confirmed to have RA and
on to the operating table in 2 to 4 years. People loose their eyesight,
hearing and the well functioning heart, arteries and veins from the effects
of uncontrolled RA.... I am still blessed and am thankful for what I have
after all these years of having RA. I can only say that DMARDs have worked
well for me and that 3 Rheumatologists have tried to control what I have in
different ways but always with DMARDs. A little before my time with RA it
was just extreme use of aspirin and steroids that ended up in a wheelchair
and people still end up that way. Kitty comes to mind and others that are
gone but not forgotten.
Sorry,,, I did not mean to get off on a rant. I try to keep in mind that
this too shall pass but we need to live with today and do the best we can
with it.

Harvey, I was away for awhile so didn't know anything about your taking TB
medicine - you contracted TB, or is it for another condition? Take care.

Hi Nanny, I tested wayyyy positive for TB. I had CT scan,, X rays and I
have none of the things going on in my lungs that would let me give it to
someone else but it did show a great deal of lung scaring from 3paks a day
up to the time I was in my mid 40s and or RA lung. I take one 300 mg of
Isoniazid everyday first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and it is
doing a pretty good job of kicking my buttttt. I have a great deal of lung
congestion 24 hours a day.
I have cut wayyyy back on the use of Enbrel to give my lungs a chance of
clearing up and have paid the price a little bit for that. Any stressful
event in my day and it has a flares response almost right away. I am
thinking of asking one of my doctors for a pill that would have me in the "I
just do not give a sh.t" or give me another toke (mj) way of thinking. I
am about 4 or 5 months into what you do to clean TB our of a persons body
once exposed..... I think or maybe its 3 or 4 months,,, I have not had my
coffee yet (which is a no, no with this medicine). :-) tomorrow will be
better.

You're right Harvey, "tomorrow will be better". Wow, I didn't know about
this. In the meantime, me thinks a prescription for an "I don't give a
sh.t" pill is certainly warranted, since stress triggers the lung response!
Many "be well's" coming your way! Nanny

allergic to Remicade too. I am on no biologics right now. stinks cause I
hurt. I really feel for you and that you are having a rough time. Please get
better and let us know ok?
Take care ok?
