Last Friday I was listening to NPR and there was a story
about the dangers of Maple syrup tapping. That it was
well known that if the trees weren't tapped regularly the
sap could possibly build up causing the tree to burst. The
Indians knew this and had passed the knowledge on but it
was lost to many today. They interviewed a man whose son
was killed by an exploding tree and I bought it hook, line
and sinker!
Days later when I mentioned it to my DH, I realized it was
an April Fool's joke. I need to lighten up.

yeah, they did something one year about, I think, Congress voting to provide
health insurance to pets..... I bit. Fired off an email to NPR about it full
of venom about uninsured PEOPLE coming first. Judging by how they talked
about it the next day, on the show and on their website, I wasn't the only
one who fell for it! LOL
