Having RA can it also effect your muscles?  Hip muscles and large muscles of
the leg, I can't seem to get the pain out of them, they get really tight,
have tired new shoes, massage, can't figure it out.

I don't have RA, but my Fibromyalgia makes mine hurt....
And I know that sometimes FM can go hand and hand with other immune
diseases...

For me, it is an indication of my RA out of control. My
muscles and tendons giving me trouble means I am in
trouble. Acupuncture can help. Regular gentle exercise
can help. PT can help.

Same with me. FMS secondary to the RA doesn't help either.

yeah, that inflammation in your joints can put additional stress on your
muscles and cause problems there.  Gentle stretching frequently throughout
the day should help.  Frequent gentle stretching is better for aggravated
muscles than one big stretching session.

Thanks for a reminder on the stretching Nann - I think that's what I might
need.

Heh, I think of it quickly as it's what I've been doing most of my life!
heehee  I think the need for it comes from the hypermobility and the
knowledge of doing it from years of dancing lessons growing up.....
Sometimes that stuff does pay off!

I live with that kind of pain daily, Becky.  But then, I was diagnosed with
FM and CMP before RA.  I know exactly what you mean.  Nanny

I think muscles hurt due to having to move differently.  That and just plain
inflammation.

Not too long ago I took Midrin which has a muscle relaxant.  It felt
SOOOOOOO good to my leg and arm muscles.
