Oh no....The Rock, Dwayne Johnson...hubba! 'Member, he's cuban.

I think Queen Latifah would make a killer Lula, but for the rest I'll have
to think on it.

i know that when one for the money was optioned for the movie (which
has never yet been made) (and which was what propelled the book to
stardom cause it was a big, very noticeable option) janet was hoping
for marissa tomei to be cast as stephanie. she may be a little too old
now, but i think that would have been a great choice.
diane
still working on this. thinking . . .
melissa tomay is probably a shue-in for stephanie, though i'd love to see
sandra bullock try the role.
george clooney as morelli
christopher judge for ranger.
definitely queen latifa for lula.
definitely estelle geddes for grandma massur (she'd who i hear in my head as
i read), but there is one other actress who can do this, but i can't think
of her name at the moment.
olivia dukakis for mom
i see dad as an ed asner type, but i can't think of the actors' names.
the greek actress who wrote and starred in "my big fat greek wedding" for
connie.
and for vinnie, well the guy who played vinnie opposite melissa tomay in
what was that movie, "my cousin vinnie"?
still thinking and i might change my mind as i come up with other actors' &
actresses' names.

ok. finally remembered who i was hearing when reading.
lauren graham (lorelei gilmore, from "the gilmore girls") can play stephanie
plum.
she's the right age, hair color, eye color and she's got the nuttiness down
pat, along with the wise cracks. i can definitely hear her saying that line
about tales from the crypt doing the bopsie twins. i'm sure she can play
stephanie's role.

either marisa tomei or tea leoni for Stephanie I don't know about
serious but funny-she is actually nuts but funny....
Raymond cruz (clear and present danger) or murillo benicio for ranger
(deadly but sane, gorgeous but deadly can be hard to play-murillo can
do the whole range)
Nick cage with hair of ben bratt for morelli
Now this is important and absolutly essential....loretta devine who
played marla hendricks on Boston Public...queen is not fat enough and
actually plays less well in an over the top roll in my opinion...got to
be Loretta Devine
Someone who is an Olympia dukakis clone (10 years younger) for the mom
that bizarre fruitcake lady who pops into either jay leno or dave
letterman for the grandmother

Melinda, Rachel is finally reading the unicorn book you sent her and she
loves it! I guess she just had to grow up a little bit to truly 'get it'.
Love ya,
Kelly C.
I was thinking of Antonio Banderas for Ranger.
