Hi Mike,

I had my right one done in 2001 and my left in 2003.  Bit painful, lots
of work therapy wise, but they are just wonderful.  I do not regret
having them done, I have a life again.

Hi Mike. I had mine done in Frimley, Surrey, and I'm still alive to tell the
tale! You'll probably need at least 3 months off work afterwards - but keep
doing physio and it will get easier. If you do a Google search there are
loads of websites you can look up, but this is a great place to ask any
detailed questions.

I had my left one done 4 weeks ago, and am still working hard at the physio,
so looking forward to the day when i can say it was all worth it!  My right
knee is playing up awful though, having had to take more strain.

Hi Mike,
I had my first knee replacement in Sept. 2003 and then my other knee done in
December 2004.  It was the best thing I could have done.  They are both
working great.  I no longer have any pain and can bend and straighten the
knees without any problems.   The first few weeks are the toughest but after
the swelling goes down and you regain strength, it is well worth it.  The
most important thing is to make sure you do the therapy.  I was back to
working from home full-time in two weeks.  Since I have a computer related
job, I was able to work from home.  I was back into my office in 5 weeks.  I
may have been ready to be back a little sooner but wasn't sure if I could
handle the hour drive one way sooner.

Hi Mike.  I had my right knee replaced in 2000.  I had written a day-by-day
journal and had submitted it to the Arthritis Insight website, but it may
have disappeared when that site changed hands.  Rosie, did you ever find out
if my journal is floating around somewhere out there?  If we can find the
journal, I'll post it for you.  In the meantime, in a "nutshell":  Very glad
I had it done.  Pretty painful recoup time, although my Fibromyalgia
probably didn't help.  Physical therapy a must after surgery.  I was age 55
when I had it done.  Nanny
