Any of you suffer from this? Any of you on any of the meds for this (
Detrol, Ditropan, others?, etc. )? If so, do you have any side effects
at all?
Would love to hear anyones experiences with these meds!

I took Ditropan for a while. And it worked. DOn't remember side effects.
There may have been some reason I couldn't take it with something I needed
worse. Or maybe I stopped coughing so much. Or maybe it was before the
hysterectomy that got my uterus the hell off my bladder. Don't remember.
Except that it worked.

Donna,
I've taken something for this. I don't remember the name but it was a
patch. It helped a little but the side effect of constipation just
added to that problem for me already. I do remember a dry mouth also.
Other than that there weren't any other noticible side effects. i've
thought about trying it again as I'm still having the problem and I
have something that finally works for the constipation. Let me know if
you try detol and it works.

I have an appointment with the urologist to talk to him about trying one
of these meds, however, the appointment isn't until towards the end of
may.
For those of you who have tried these meds or are taking them now, do
you take the regular dose or the long acting/extended release version?
I am hoping these meds are something I will be able to take as I am
always running for the bathroom, but especially at night. I am usually
up every 11/2 hours to every 2 hours and on a particularly bad night may
even be up as often as every hour. Not conducive to a real good nights
sleep. Since I had a hysterectomy a long time ago, I know it isn't
from my uterus causing pressure on the bladder. Am hoping that one of
these meds might just help me get at least a few hours of uninterrupted
sleep at night and some easier times when I am out and about during the
day!

Side effects may be specific to certain other ailments and conditions, or
may be from interaction with other medications.
My father, who has Parkinson's, has taken Detrol since a prostate
operation. The main problem with Detrol is that it can cause an increase
in Parkinsonian symptoms, so they keep his dosage low.

I have used both detrol and ditropan, I think that detrol causes less dry
mouth then the ditropan, they both work good, though.

Donna,
Have you been checked for water diabetes because of you going to the
bathroom so much. It is an osmalarity test, I believe.
