Monday I have two appointments in Sacramento.  First with the audiologist
and then with the surgeon that does cochlear implants.

I simply have to qualify this time.  The isolation and sensory depravation
are getting to me in ways I fear could be permanent.  Feeling like why
bother with the surgery and that sort of thing.

So between 2pm and 4pm could I have some positive thoughts, and even a few
prayers?

Jo, I will be saying more than a few prayers. I can only imagine the
isolation you feel...I know how I feel in a busy room full of people, that
is when everyword runs together and I feel myself withdrawing as  I have
trouble following any conversations...That is with good hearing in one
ear...(deaf in the other except for a constant SWOOOSHH noise..)
I have heard that you can have something removed to make that sound go
away...but I would think if this happened in both ears...It would be better
than no sound at all....

Jo sending you big hugs and lots of prayers...

Prayers, Purrayers, Puppy grunts, good thoughts and tomorrow I'll light
a candle (15:00 to 17:00 Mountain Time).  In fact, I'll keep ya in my
thoughts tonight as well, just to get a head start.

I have been thinking about this for you. I knew the old
insurance wasn't allowing it and then you had hopes for
Medicare but hadn't heard anymore. Sending huge
positive thoughts and prayers your way. Fingers firmly
crossed.

I failed the hearing test!!!  Which is good news.

So I now qualify for the cochlear implant.

Better news.  A major upgrade in the implants is just now going online.
This is like the third upgrade this major in twenty years.

Best news.  Pre-op is April 18.  Surgery is April 28.

Hardly even enough time to get a really good case of jitters going.

would be so awesome.

I don't even remember when the gimpfests are.  I've been determinedly not
thinking past getting the surgery scheduled.  Anyway.  Surgery April 28.
Four to five weeks before they turn it on is the end of May.  So I should be
ready to take it for a test drive after that?

Jo, that is just the BEST news!!!   I am soooooooo very excited for you
and can't think of a more deserving person!!!   So, so happy!    Perhaps
there was a reason that you couldn't get approved back in
november/december.   Perhaps it was meant for you to wait so that you
could get the new and improved upgrade!   Woooooohoooooooo......I just
am soooo happy for you.   Praying the surgery goes well and that next
year you won't have to ask anyone to listen to christmas songs for you,
you'll be able to do that yourself!

Hugs!

Such good news.   I am a little hard of hearing.   Just enough to have an
idea of what your day is like.   Please remind us as things get close.   Got
some hard praying to do about Jo who has a heart of a lion.

Prayers have been coming your way. I know your surgery is sometime this
month. I spaced the day so if you could let us know ahead of time when that
way we can focus on prayers that day also.

You take care and know we are thinking of you.

Love and hugs to all
